Small in proportions, but monumental in its effects, RFID represents a big change in the retail industry. The recent initiatives of Wal-Mart, Target, the Department of Defence and other organizations, requiring case and pallet labeling for RFID, may seem trivial to the general public. That viewpoint is not shared by the relatively few people tasked with the job of bringing their companies into compliance over the next year or so.You may be affected already, perhaps as a member of your company’s RFID task force, or as an employee of your company’s supply chain.
RFID implementation is a real opportunity for those of us who support the retail industry. It is no small task, and we’ve observed a real lack of practical information.
