Trux 700 Mobile Computers
Trux 700 mobile computers are a range of rugged PCs with wireless connections for forklift trucks and other professional vehicles. The Trux 700 range has been custom-designed to survive in the rough and tumble of manufacturing, production and warehouse environments.
At first glance Trux PC terminals look like ordinary PCs, and they are.. when it comes to looks, capacity and user friendliness. But that’s where the similarities end! Trux is a PC designed to survive industrial stress: it tolerates shakes, jolts and vibrations in forklift trucks; works well in pouring rain and in dry, dusty environments; and functions in blistering heat and bitter cold. It's cover is light but super strong magnesium and contains a computer and bright touch screen—all in one. That’s why Trux PCs are found in places you’d never dream of finding computers, for example, trucks in freezers and outdoor storage facilities, foundries, metal scrap yards and paper mills. In short: anywhere regular PCs won’t work!

You decide: Powerful PC or Flexible thin client in forklift trucks?

Forklift trucks lack springs and shock absorbers. They’re used in extremely cold warehouses and outdoors in the rain and sun. But this is no big deal for Trux because they’re designed to put up with the most difficult conditions. If you run full Windows 2000 or XP applications, then you choose Trux 700 WAP : a range of powerful Intel processor options are available. However if your operation has central administration, then a thin client terminal from the Trux 700 WCT range offers Windows CE.net or Embedded XP and pre-installed Citrix client, for integration with your terminal services.

When Trux computers were installed in a Ford USA plant, a fork lift battery was dropped on one of the terminals. The casing broke slightly but the computer kept on working. The terminals now have a magnesium housing so you can imagine exactly how rugged these computers are now! |
