WMS Inventory Locations
As the system is real-time, the inventory in Dexterity WMS exactly reflects the physical quantities in the warehouse. The system has many comprehensive features for managing inventory. The inventory records and structure are key to the whole system and are made up of the following:
Item Master Record: The item data records are the products that are to be managed by the system, i.e. inventory master records. This section allows you to set-up the product codes, descriptions and categories which are used throughout the system. Additional set-up parameters are available from the item data record which allow you to define how the inventory management rules for each item are set out.
Re-order Quantities: These are the inventory threshold and re-order levels. If the stock on-hand falls below the minimum quantity the item reference and quantity will appear on the re-order report. If the stock on-hand exceeds the maximum quantity the item reference and quantity will appear on the overstock summary report.
Prime Locations: It is possible to set-up and manage prime locations which are forward picking locations where fast moving products are stored in bulk. You can set-up a low-level threshold which will trigger a replenishment for the prime location.
User Defined Fields: Up to 24 user defined fields can be configured against the item master. These could be used to identify additional information specific to your particular business i.e. costing, alternative parts, etc. |
